What You'll Do
Design and implement advanced models that detect fraud and assess financial risk, guiding their evolution from initial research through deployment and ongoing monitoring. You'll shape the technical direction of modeling initiatives that power core identity verification and risk assessment products.
Investigate emerging fraud patterns and translate findings into scalable solutions, integrating new data sources and engineering meaningful features to improve model performance. Your work will directly influence real-time decision systems used by external partners.
Collaborate with engineering, risk operations, and data acquisition teams to ensure reliable, high-quality data pipelines. Lead analytical efforts that inform strategic priorities across product development, marketing, and sales.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a PhD or 8 years with a Master’s degree in a quantitative field
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex business challenges using data science and machine learning at scale
- Strong expertise in end-to-end model development: defining objectives, establishing success metrics, gaining stakeholder alignment, building solutions, and delivering results
- Proficiency in applied machine learning and statistics, with the ability to rapidly prototype and refine models
- Experience writing production-grade code and automated tests
- Strong communication skills with a track record of presenting technical findings to senior leaders
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy in high-stakes decision-making
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and reside within the country
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with identity verification, fintech, or related domains
- Background working in startup environments
- Ability to thrive in fast-moving settings where problems are open-ended and impact is significant
Technical Environment
You'll work primarily with Python 3, PostgreSQL, and AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and Redshift to build and deploy scalable data systems.

Work Mode
This role supports hybrid work arrangements, with team presence in Austin, San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Gurugram (Delhi), and Bengaluru. While remote options are available, some positions require in-office collaboration. The engineering team in India primarily operates from the Gurugram office.
