Comtech LLC is hiring a System Administrator / IBM AIX

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, set up, update, and manage IBM AIX 6.1 and 7.1 operating systems on Power6, Power7, and Power8 server hardware
  • Plan and implement PowerVM virtualization features including Shared Ethernet Adapter (SEA), VLAN configuration, VLAN tagging, IVE, NPIV, CPU pooling, Live Partition Mobility, and virtual SCSI across multiple VIO client partitions
  • Set up and maintain high-availability clusters using Power HA, and manage distributed file systems such as NFS and GPFS
  • Install, update, configure, and operate the IBM Hardware Management Console, including features like Partition Mobility, Application Mobility, CPU pooling, Active Memory Expansion (AME), and Active Memory Sharing (AMS)
  • Deploy and support Axway Secure File Transport Server and Axway File Transfer Direct, including SSH setup, encryption tools, and key generation and exchange
  • Configure and manage NFS and CIFS protocols with multi-protocol interoperability, integrating with NAS and NIS in master/slave setups
  • Implement and maintain system backup and recovery tools such as Sysback, NIM, and CommVault for bare metal restoration and disaster recovery, along with enterprise backup platforms like EMC Avamar and CommVault
  • Monitor system performance using tools including IBM Tivoli, Splunk, Ganglia, and Big Brother
  • Develop, edit, and maintain KORN shell scripts for automation and system tasks
  • Install, configure, update, and manage SAN environments, supporting servers with SAN-attached storage via EMC VMAX, VNX, and VPLEX virtualization
