Lead drywall operations on high-complexity commercial builds, overseeing skilled teams and ensuring every phase meets rigorous safety, quality, and schedule standards. In this role, you’ll directly manage assistant superintendents and foremen, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and injury-free work practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop field leadership, including assistant superintendents and foremen, through coaching and on-the-job mentorship
- Recruit, onboard, and support craft personnel, with a focus on building capable, cohesive teams
- Enforce compliance with safety protocols, particularly within the Injury-Free Environment (IFE) framework, and respond effectively to any workforce changes
- Ensure all drywall work meets project specifications, code requirements, and internal quality benchmarks
- Collaborate with project teams and trade partners to resolve conflicts, streamline workflows, and maintain production efficiency
- Address challenges in real time—whether safety-related, quality-driven, or logistical—using structured problem-solving methods
- Represent field operations professionally, maintaining strong communication across all levels of the project
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction field experience, with at least 10 years in hands-on trade roles such as journeyman, foreman, or superintendent
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and navigate workforce adjustments with fairness and professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on active listening and clear, respectful communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and PlanGrid for daily planning and documentation
- Demonstrated success in identifying root causes and implementing practical solutions in fast-paced environments
