Salesforce is hiring a Summer 2026 Intern for Tableau Research. This role is focused on advancing Tableau's mission of helping people see and understand data. You will work on a defined research project with a mentor, aiming to further your research career, inspire new product ideas, and potentially lead to academic publication.
What You'll Do
- Work on a research project mutually discussed and agreed upon with a mentor from Tableau Research.
- Work closely with a mentor, typically meeting daily to coordinate, plan, and set expectations.
- Present and provide updates at team meetings.
- Design and/or prototype solutions, potentially including user studies.
- Create a final presentation and write-up of the project.
- Potentially co-author an academic paper extending beyond the internship period.
What We're Looking For
- PhD student in good academic standing.
- At least a couple years of research and publishing experience at high-quality conference and journal venues.
- Research passion aligns with Tableau’s mission to help people see and understand data.
- Clear written and oral communication skills.
- Diligent, takes personal responsibility for work, and manages time effectively.
- Excels at balancing independent work with meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks efficiently.

- Compensation: For Washington-based roles: $57 to $63 per hour. For California-based roles: $58 to $65 per hour.
