The University of Miami is hiring a Strategic Data Analyst 2 to transform complex, disparate data into actionable intelligence. In this remote role, you will implement both traditional statistical methods and innovative analytics to directly inform decision-making for university leadership. You will provide the information and insight needed to track and drive the university’s Strategic Roadmap Initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Support the university with insights gained from analyzing institutional data.
- Implement innovative strategic analytics to inform decision-making for leadership.
- Communicate information and insight to aid in tracking and driving the university’s Strategic Roadmap Initiatives and key performance indicators.
- Discover solutions hidden in large data sets and work with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Economics, or another social science discipline.
- 3+ years of proven work experience in data analytics, or a combination of work experience and an advanced degree with increasing responsibility.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
- Ability to be flexible, think critically, and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.
- Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages such as R, Python, or SQL.
- Experience visualizing and presenting information using tools like Power BI, Tableau, ggplot, or PowerPoint.
Nice to Have
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Economics, or another social science discipline.
- 3+ years of experience manipulating data sets and producing actionable predictive analytics.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Proficiency with AI-based productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT, with experience applying them to enhance data analysis or reporting.
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts, with practical application experience.
- Practical experience implementing AI into daily workflows for note taking, communication, and documentation.
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
