Mediix is hiring a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist to provide high-quality anaesthetic care in a remote regional Queensland hospital. This senior role involves working across a wide range of specialties, supervising junior staff, and contributing to clinical governance and quality improvement for a diverse community.
What You'll Do
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based anaesthetic care across a variety of medical specialties, including surgery, obstetrics, trauma, and dental procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
- Supervise, teach, and develop junior medical staff and anaesthesia trainees.
- Contribute to clinical governance and participate in ongoing professional development and training.
- Provide support to other healthcare facilities in the region, as needed.
- Participate in an on-call roster to support anaesthetic services as required.
- Provide training and mentorship to medical trainees, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and safety programs.
What We're Looking For
- Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in anaesthesia for obstetrics and epidurals.
- Engagement in continuous medical education and quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience working with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations.
Nice to Have
- Experience in paediatric anaesthesia (up to 5 years).
- Interest or experience in Intensive Care management.
- Expertise in regional anaesthesia and pain management.

- Competitive Salary: $525,850 - $650,288 per annum (full-time equivalent).
