Coinbase is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to balance high-level individual contribution with anchoring new projects, leading technical direction, and mentoring engineers. You will focus on architecting foundational solutions for subscription products within the Trust & Loyalty organization's CB1 Growth team, driving subscriber acquisition and activation through rapid experimentation and funnel optimization.
What You'll Do
- Architect, design and implement foundational solutions for the subscription product.
- Provide technical structure to teams and work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps.
- Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise.
- Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.
- Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.
- Be responsible for product and operational health.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
- Experience managing technical roadmap and driving organizational engineering excellence.
- Experience building or scaling systems related to subscription/membership/promotion products, or growth levers.
- Experience with growth metrics (e.g. conversion, activation, retention, engagement) and A/B testing frameworks.
Nice to Have
- Experience building financial, high reliability or security systems.
- Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.

You will be part of the Trust & Loyalty organization, specifically the CB1 Growth team.
