Centria Autism is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of the critical systems powering pricing strategies, third-party integrations, and operational capabilities. You will serve as the primary point of contact for product areas and drive architectural decisions for reliability and scalability.
What You'll Do
- Lead architectural initiatives impacting multiple teams, such as introducing stress testing or new frameworks like GraphQL.
- Develop deep knowledge of the entire technology stack and evolve architecture to support future requirements.
- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and maintainability by setting and upholding best practices.
- Write, review, and maintain high-quality, well-tested code adhering to standards.
- Take full ownership of systems, troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing for uninterrupted operations.
- Serve as primary point of contact for one or more product areas, coordinating cross-functional activities.
- Proactively scope out complex work with cross-functional partners, ensuring alignment on objectives.
- Coordinate team members, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate productive discussions.
- Mentor engineers through knowledge-sharing and hands-on guidance.
- Delegate tasks effectively to empower team members.
- Anticipate and define solutions to problems before they occur.
- Contribute to long-term product and engineering strategy with insights on architectural evolution.
- Foster a solution-oriented mindset within the team.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years in a staff or senior engineering role.
- Proven expertise leading complex, cross-functional projects across multiple teams.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js-based web application frameworks (e.g., Nest.js).
- Extensive experience with cloud-based architectures and tools, particularly AWS (Lambda, Fargate, ECS, EKS).
- In-depth knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (MongoDB, MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB).
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical execution with time management and communication.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and rapid iteration cycles.
- Strong EQ with ability to foster collaboration and empathy across teams.
- Willingness to travel 1-2x per quarter to San Francisco or Hungary.

Team & Environment
The Product & Engineering team spans the United States, Mexico, and Hungary. This role is part of the Formula RC team (Revenue and Channels), a department comprised of two teams: Formula RC and Hospitality.
