Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the technical vision for the Fable backend by authoring design documents and translating product goals into actionable architecture.
- Take end-to-end ownership of backend system health, covering deployment pipelines, databases, message queues, monitoring, cost efficiency, and continuous integration workflows.
- Lead incident management efforts, facilitate post-incident reviews, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked.
- Represent backend interests in cross-team planning and act as a coordination point for cross-functional initiatives.
- Improve team capabilities through code reviews, hands-on mentorship, collaborative coding, and upholding strong standards in design, testing, and operations.
- Develop and refine the backend platform to enable faster and safer feature delivery across the engineering team.
- Integrate advanced engineering practices into daily workflows and support team adoption of these methods.
