Atropos Health is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead and shape the technical direction of our team. You will architect, design, and deliver our core applications, championing best practices and mentoring junior engineers as you collaborate closely with product, design, and operations to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
What You'll Do
- Architect and develop complex backend and frontend components using Python/Django and React, defining technical roadmaps.
- Lead implementation of robust, testable, and scalable systems, championing best practices.
- Design and maintain comprehensive CI/CD pipelines, optimizing deployment processes.
- Collaborate with product management, UI/UX design, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Establish and maintain coding standards through code reviews.
- Integrate and manage data flows from various back-end services and databases.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex application issues, acting as a technical escalation point.
- Mentor and coach junior developers.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience leading company-wide initiatives.
- Strong proficiency in Python for backend development.
- Extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.
- In-depth knowledge of front-end development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development (TDD).
- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructures, particularly AWS (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3).
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of web security best practices and common vulnerabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
Nice to Have
- Healthcare related experience.
- Knowledge or equivalent experience working in environments handling sensitive data (ex PHI in healthcare).
