Prematch is hiring a Staff Platform Engineer to build and scale the infrastructure platform for our rapidly growing SaaS product. You will own projects end-to-end, focusing on reliability, security, and developer experience to support our engineering team and customers.
What You'll Do
- Optimize our homegrown, ultra-dynamic recruiting DSL-to-SQL compiler and create tools to help developers do so.
- Create automated guardrails for the security and privacy of customer data.
- Help developers ship features fast through canary deploys, gradual rollouts, and feature flags.
- Work with business and engineering to define SLOs and implement corresponding SLIs.
- Ensure all communication with external services supports retries and circuit-breakers.
- Implement infrastructure to support an event-driven architecture and data warehouse.
- Debug thorny issues and build a future-proof platform to withstand scale.
- Do infrastructure updates, security enforcements, database optimization, Kubernetes debugging, and trace analysis.
- Review and submit code changes as part of day-to-day work.
- Manage your own projects, seek help when needed, and cut scope when worthwhile.
What We're Looking For
- You never stop investigating problems until you find the explanation.
- You don't take shortcuts and consider future users and edge cases.
- You care about your work and your team, and want to work with others who do the same.
- You've built infrastructure at a slightly later stage than Ashby, dealing with millions of data points.
- You are a Swiss army knife, tackling hard problems across infrastructure, security, databases, and debugging.
- You are comfortable making your own technical decisions and are accountable for what you ship.
- You are comfortable with SQL.
- You want to code and will review and submit code changes daily.
- You communicate best practices primarily through written communication and code, not live meetings.
- You have delivered a project on your own without someone prodding for updates.

- TypeScript, Node.js, React, Apollo GraphQL
- Postgres, Redis
- Datadog, Sentry
