CloudLinux is hiring a Staff Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping and building our high-impact initiatives. This is a hands-on role combining deep technical expertise with product ownership, requiring you to lead architectural design, guide multiple teams, and drive product direction for complex, cross-cutting systems.
What You'll Do
- Gather requirements from multiple stakeholders on a project.
- Lead architectural design and technical direction for high-impact initiatives.
- Guide multiple engineering teams in the adoption of scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Collaborate across teams to gather requirements and align on priorities.
- Promote engineering excellence through design reviews, mentorship, and best practices.
- Continuously explore and evaluate new technologies, methodologies, and tools.
- Ensure that all solutions are robust, secure, and performant in production environments.
- Champion a culture of automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the design of a system to map software supply chains by ingesting projects and calculating full dependency trees.
What We're Looking For
- Proficiency in Python is a must.
- Senior-level engineer proficient in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable software systems.
- Regular code contributions and leading by example in both architecture and implementation are expected.
- Experience shaping product direction, gathering and refining requirements, translating them into technical goals, and aligning them with broader engineering strategies.
- Ownership of the entire lifecycle of major components, from initial concept through prototyping, delivery, and ongoing evolution.
- Active communication with engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders across departments.
- Ability to align different viewpoints, prioritize effectively, and turn feedback into actionable plans.
- Strategic thinking and execution, understanding broader product and organizational goals, and making informed engineering trade-offs.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of any other programming languages is a plus.
- Experience in technical product management or direct ownership of product roadmaps is highly valued.
