OpenSea is looking for a Staff Data Engineer to lead the design and implementation of the scalable data infrastructure that powers analytics for millions of NFT transactions. You will architect the data backbone for one of the most prominent platforms in web3.

What You'll Do

Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines for processing blockchain and digital asset data at scale.
Create and maintain business-critical dashboards across revenue and monitoring use-cases.
Develop robust ETL processes using SQL to transform raw data into analytics-ready tables.
Implement data modeling solutions for complex domains like NFTs, including metadata, ownership, and analytics.
Build and maintain CDC solutions to synchronize data between MongoDB, Postgres, Kafka, Confluent, and Snowflake.
Configure and maintain data streaming solutions for real-time data processing.
Set up and manage automated scheduling systems for data transformation tasks.
Implement data governance and security controls, including role-based access management.
Optimize and configure multi-cluster Snowflake data warehouses for concurrent query handling.

What We're Looking For

Expert-level proficiency in SQL and modern data stack technologies.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar data warehousing tools, including multi-cluster warehouse configuration and optimization.
Strong background in CDC solutions and real-time data streaming (Kafka, Confluent).
Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MongoDB).
Proven track record building ETL/ELT pipelines that process terabytes of data daily.
Understanding of blockchain/NFT data structures and metadata standards.
Experience implementing data governance, security controls, and access management.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
High ownership mentality.

Nice to Have

AI-forward mindset with hands-on experience adopting and integrating AI tools.

Salary range: $180,000 to $270,000 plus equity.
