Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Location: Remote (Eastern Time Alignment) Position Summary The inaugural Infrastructure Engineer for Chamber represents a pivotal hands-on role for a proactive, self-motivated professional eager to pioneer a groundbreaking technological foundation. This position involves architecting, expanding, and evolving Chamber's cloud platform powered by AWS, which drives real-time cardiology insights and value-based care operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, the role encompasses comprehensive ownership across infrastructure architecture, automation, security, and reliability frameworks. Key Responsibilities • Design and Scale Chamber's AWS Infrastructure. Spearhead architectural implementation and optimization of ECS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, Redshift, S3, and additional AWS services supporting a rapidly expanding clinical and analytics platform. • Develop and Maintain Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi. Establish scalable infrastructure patterns, enforce environmental consistency, and accelerate automation throughout infrastructure lifecycle. • Implement Comprehensive Monitoring and Observability Systems. Construct end-to-end visibility into application, data, and infrastructure performance utilizing CloudWatch, DataDog, and similar tools, ensuring reliability at significant scale. Manage cost transparency and optimization by collaborating with product and data teams. • Automate Deployment and Environment Provisioning. Enhance developer efficiency and operational safety through advanced GitHub Actions workflows, automated environment configurations, and strengthened deployment pipelines. • Maintain Robust Security Posture and Compliance. Collaborate with Security teams to apply IAM best practices, implement sophisticated secrets management, encryption standards, and comprehensive auditability while preserving HIPAA and SOC2 compliance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Advanced AWS Architectural Expertise. Capability to design secure, scalable, cost-efficient systems across computational, storage, networking, and data service domains, particularly in regulated healthcare environments. • Advanced Infrastructure as Code Proficiency. Expertise in constructing complex, production-grade infrastructure systems using Pulumi with robust TypeScript fundamentals. • Strong Automation Mindset. Proficient in developing tooling, scripts, and workflows primarily using Python and TypeScript to minimize manual intervention, enhance reliability, and accelerate delivery. • Cross-Functional Collaboration Skills. Ability to partner with product engineering, data engineering, and application teams, translating clinical and operational constraints into strategic infrastructure decisions. • Security and Reliability-Focused Decision Making. Approach architecture, tooling, and operations with a fundamental commitment to safety, compliance, observability, and operational excellence.
