We're building a new generation of AI-driven tools for the insurance industry and need a seasoned backend engineer to lead the charge in prototyping and delivering transformative features. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of innovation and execution, transforming bold ideas into functional, high-impact systems.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop new product capabilities from concept to production, focusing on rapid iteration and real-world validation
- Build fast, lean prototypes to demonstrate technical feasibility and user value
- Test unproven ideas early and often, using data to guide decisions and refine direction
- Own end-to-end development of backend systems, from architecture to deployment and monitoring
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities where AI can unlock new market potential
- Translate experimental features into robust, scalable solutions ready for broad adoption
What We're Looking For
- At least 8 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping complex systems
- Strong command of Python and modern backend development practices
- Proven experience with cloud infrastructure, including serverless platforms like Lambda, EC2, and asynchronous processing pipelines
- Familiarity with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- Ability to work independently, solve ambiguous problems, and communicate progress clearly
- A mindset oriented toward fast learning, rapid feedback, and continuous iteration
Nice to Have
- Exposure to large language models or generative AI applications
- Background in distributed systems or high-scale backend architectures
