Responsibilities
- Shape Android user experiences across key domains including Maps, Realtime, Feed, Notifications, History, and coordination features.
- Partner with technical leads across teams to align on architectural standards, design patterns, and execution strategies.
- Guide teams in prioritizing and sequencing work to achieve a unified, forward-looking product vision.
- Influence product and design strategy by translating goals into actionable engineering roadmaps and clarifying technical tradeoffs.
- Resolve complex technical obstacles, develop prototypes, conduct in-depth code reviews, and elevate engineering standards across the organization.
- Write production-level code while focusing on high-impact initiatives that improve team velocity and architectural coherence.
- Enhance development efficiency through improved tooling, automation, and integration of AI-assisted development workflows.
- Work closely with Design to create refined, intuitive, and emotionally expressive user interactions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience developing consumer-facing Android applications at scale, preferably in high-traffic, high-MAU environments.
- Extensive knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android technologies, including Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Architecture Components.
- Strong architectural judgment with the ability to define patterns and guide technical direction across multiple engineering teams.
- Proven experience leading cross-team initiatives and delivering integrated, end-to-end user experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Design to build polished, intuitive, and high-quality user interfaces.
- Ability to shape product direction through technical insight, clear communication, and thoughtful analysis of tradeoffs.
- Track record of amplifying team effectiveness through mentorship, deep technical reviews, prototyping, and solving high-complexity problems.
- Experience with AI-powered development tools or automating developer workflows.

Compensation
For US candidates: $167,000 to $245,000. For Canadian candidates: 194,000 to 227,000 CAD. Equity is included in the compensation package. Final salary varies based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
