Aledade is hiring a Staff AI Researcher specializing in ML and AI modeling for epidemiology. In this senior role, you will develop and apply advanced machine learning techniques to solve critical problems in population health and healthcare delivery.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and validate novel machine learning models for epidemiological analysis.
- Lead research initiatives to translate complex healthcare data into actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of data scientists, clinicians, and product managers to integrate models into production systems.
- Stay current with state-of-the-art research in AI, machine learning, and computational epidemiology.
- Communicate research findings and model performance to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Advanced degree (PhD or MS with significant experience) in Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning models in a research or production setting.
- Proven expertise in applying AI/ML techniques to problems in epidemiology, public health, or a closely related biomedical domain.
- Strong programming skills in languages like Python or R and proficiency with ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
- Expertise in statistical analysis and experience working with large, complex healthcare datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a record of publishing or presenting research.
Nice to Have
- Experience with causal inference methods, time-series forecasting for disease modeling, or natural language processing for clinical text.
- Deep understanding of the US healthcare system, value-based care, and relevant data sources (e.g., claims, EHR).
- Experience mentoring or leading other researchers or data scientists.
