Cushman & Wakefield is hiring a Staff Accountant to join our team in the APAC region. In this role, you will prepare financial documents, oversee accounting procedures, and contribute to budgeting and cash flow management to support the company's overall financial operations.
What You'll Do
- Manage local regulatory compliance, staying current with the latest accounting standards and tax laws applicable to the company's operations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns, including income tax and GST, in a timely manner and coordinate with external consultants as needed.
- Handle all necessary government filings, such as annual financial statements and other regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with external auditors to assist in the completion of statutory audits.
- Perform day-to-day financial accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, analyzing data for trends and improvements.
- Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure reliable financial information.
- Act as the point of contact for government authorities and regulatory bodies regarding financial and tax matters.
- Continuously review accounting processes to identify opportunities for streamlining, automation, and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least 2 years of related experience.
- Strong aptitude for math and excellent analytical skills.
- Broad knowledge of accounting principles and solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
- Expert proficiency in Excel and general computer literacy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to be comfortable interacting via phone, email, or face-to-face.
- A success-driven, positive can-do attitude that combines commitment with self-initiative.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Power Query and Power BI is a preferred advantage.
