About the Role
The selected candidate will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, and optimization of Unix-based systems within a large-scale production environment, supporting core business operations through system stability and proactive issue resolution.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Unix server environments across data centers
- Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Implement and enforce security policies and compliance standards
- Support system upgrades, patches, and version migrations
- Collaborate with network and security teams on infrastructure integration
- Develop and maintain system documentation and operational runbooks
- Respond to critical system outages and lead incident resolution
- Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
- Coordinate change management for system modifications
- Monitor system capacity and plan for future growth
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Support backup and restore operations for critical systems
- Integrate systems with enterprise monitoring tools
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for incident response
- Evaluate new technologies for system improvements
- Maintain system configurations and enforce consistency
- Troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues
- Support virtualized and containerized Unix environments
- Work with application teams to resolve platform-level issues
- Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements
- Optimize system performance and resource utilization
- Deploy and manage system monitoring agents
- Assist in root cause analysis for recurring problems
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members
