Blackpoint Cyber is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer (Backend) to design, develop, and maintain cloud-based solutions built to scale with our customers' infrastructure. You will implement and maintain a highly reliable cloud-native interface and underlying microservices, focusing on backend components.

What You'll Do

Deliver on business-critical outcomes through your product contributions to our cybersecurity platform.
Define and build user experiences for Blackpoint customers and own those experiences end-to-end.
Lead and drive projects across the stack, with a focus on backend components such as Node.js services hosted on Kubernetes.
Apply a deep understanding of back-end architecture and design patterns to ensure performance, scalability, and resilience.
Excel as a team player by recognizing diverse perspectives and managing expectations across cross-functional groups.
Mentor other engineers and lead them in complex, multi-person projects.
Communicate effectively with leadership to define technical solutions aligned with high-level business objectives.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of back-end development experience.
Enterprise-level expertise and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Node.js and experience with backend frameworks like Nest.js or Express.js.
Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining microservices architectures.
Strong expertise in database management, including schema design, performance tuning, and indexing for large-scale distributed databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
Experience with message-driven architectures using tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other event-driven systems.
Experience in designing APIs (RESTful, gRPC, or GraphQL) and integrating third-party services.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI).
Proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams.
Experience in cloud-native technologies such as AWS Lambda.
Hands-on experience ensuring proper monitoring and alerting using Prometheus and Grafana.
Proficiency in testing frameworks and tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Storybook.
Proficiency in working with containerized microservices architecture, particularly using Kubernetes.
A strong sense of ownership and accountability for production software.
Familiarity and enthusiasm for working in an Agile development environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams, with leadership skills to drive projects.
A commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with new technologies.
B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with developing core libraries, infrastructure components, and search engines to support large-scale applications.
Expertise in security practices for backend services, such as OAuth2, JWT, TLS, and encryption.
Experience with Elasticsearch or similar search engines for building robust indexing and search capabilities.
Familiarity with component libraries and design systems, such as Material-UI or Ant Design.
