About the Role

Aecon Group Inc. (AECON), a leader in sustainable construction, is looking for a Sr. Environmental Coordinator. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for on‑site environmental oversight to ensure construction activities comply with regulatory, client, and project‑specific requirements while supporting environmental reporting, training, and performance monitoring.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain the Environmental Management System and ensure compliance with applicable best practices, regulations, Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and site-specific plans.
  • Provide reports and attend on-site meetings as required.
  • Manage data collection, storage and analysis.
  • Oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed in compliance with all relevant client requirements as well as provincial and/or federal regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor environmental programs and policies.
  • Provide advice to project leadership regarding environmental matters as they relate to construction activities.
  • Monitor construction activities and evaluate compliance with applicable standards, contract documents and client commitments.
  • Monitor and report any potential environmental issues and recommendations for appropriate mitigation and corrective actions.
  • Provide training to employees and contractors on environmental awareness.
  • Draft, review, and submit daily field reports, incident reports, and compliance audits.
  • Track key project performance indicators and develop reports.
  • Work with project coordinators/managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure projects are completed in accordance with an established scope of work.
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.

Team & Environment

You will be reporting directly to the Environmental Manager and collaborating closely with project coordinators and managers to ensure environmental compliance and project success. Work Mode

This role is an onsite position, requiring presence at the construction project location for daily oversight and coordination.
