Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Sr. Data Engineering Scientist 2 for a fully remote role within the United States. This senior position combines deep technical expertise with client-facing collaboration, focusing on designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable data solutions to support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Develop and manage analytics pipelines, including data cleaning, visualization, and access management.
- Audit datasets for accuracy, reliability, and consistency to ensure data integrity across projects.
- Collaborate to identify data models, algorithms, and predictive techniques to address client challenges.
- Build data pipelines from digital marketing platforms to cloud-based data warehouses, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Implement and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure, including warehouse architecture and automation of pipelines.
- Lead technical projects, managing scope, schedule, resources, and delivery to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Mentor junior engineers, promote best practices, and contribute to team growth and knowledge sharing.
- Support analytics implementations across websites, including tag management, HTML, JavaScript, and advanced analytics tools.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to execute proofs of concept and shape technical strategy.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer or in a related data engineering role.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and JavaScript for data extraction, transformation, and pipeline development.
- Advanced experience with cloud platforms such as Google BigQuery, GCP, AWS, or Azure for big data solutions.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React) for analytics implementation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent experience; code school graduates with relevant experience are considered.
- Desire to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and client-focused environment.
