Responsibilities
- Design and deploy secure architecture frameworks tailored to operational technology systems within water utility infrastructure, including SCADA systems, programmable logic controllers, remote terminal units, and human-machine interfaces
- Create network segmentation approaches based on industry standards such as the Purdue Model, including demilitarized zones and secure remote connectivity solutions
- Enable integration of operational technology monitoring data into enterprise security operations centers and security information and event management platforms for real-time threat identification
- Perform risk evaluations specific to water and wastewater treatment and distribution systems with a focus on cyber-physical security
- Ensure compliance with recognized cybersecurity standards including NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443, and Environmental Protection Agency guidelines
- Develop and update System Security Plans, Plans of Action and Milestones, and Risk Management Framework documentation
- Construct incident response procedures and conduct simulation exercises specific to operational technology environments
- Assist in digital forensics and resilience planning following cybersecurity incidents involving industrial control systems
- Work closely with utility personnel, engineering staff, and federal program officials to align security practices with operational needs
- Produce and present technical assessments and high-level summaries on the cybersecurity status of OT systems to leadership audiences
- Demonstrate strong ability to convey precise and reliable information through both verbal and written communication
