Wabtec Corporation is hiring a Specialist - Mechatronics Engineering. In this role, you will design, troubleshoot, and maintain complex Mechatronic systems for our transit electronics solutions. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs while adhering to ISO9001, CMMI, and Wabtec Policy requirements.
What You'll Do
- Perform all aspects of technical work to meet ISO9001, CMMI and Wabtec Policy requirements.
- Design, troubleshoot and maintain complex Mechatronic systems.
- Read and interpret PCB schematics and design and verify PCB layouts.
- Create processes and documents to troubleshoot boards for Automated Test Equipment.
- Review test specifications and procedures for accuracy.
- Document processes in flow charts using Microsoft Visio.
- Write test scripts using Python.
- Support business development teams in preparing proposal materials.
- Ensure systems meet all associated design criteria and specifications.
- Participate in project scheduling and process improvements.
- Support the expansion of CMMI processes into Engineering.
- Continue to improve current processes to deliver more efficiently.
- Review, analyze and deliver work as per customer contracts.
- Interact with peers, internal stakeholders, vendors and service providers.
- Communicate effectively (verbally and written) with internal and external stakeholders.
- Organize and prioritize project deliverables.
- Strive for 100% accuracy in finished documentation.
- Manage document revision control and technical writing.
- Create manufacturing and assembly documents/drawings using experience in Manufacturing, Machining, and Assembly.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 2-4 years of experience in Electrical and/or Mechanical design.
- Work experience encompassing embedded systems, communications, and programming.
- Detailed understanding of diodes, transistors, ICs (VLSI, PAL, CPLD, FPGA, etc.), optoelectric devices, display technologies, discharge devices and power sources.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- Able to travel to customer sites for design review meetings (10-25%).
- Able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Adaptable to change, a quick learner, and able to work independently.
- Able to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions.
- Able to read, understand, and apply procedures.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
Nice to Have
- Programming experience with Python, C, JavaScript, Perl, Lisp, Visual Basic, etc.
- Knowledge of Pneumatic, Hydraulic and HVAC systems.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $72,500 - $85,000
- Comprehensive benefits plan including vacation, health, dental, and retirement
- Annual bonus, if eligible
