Work and Travel Guide is looking for a Software Engineer with a full-stack, backend-focused skillset to build and evolve the systems powering our travel startup. You will work with high autonomy, own architecture decisions, and be central to a development culture that heavily utilizes AI-assisted workflows.

What You'll Do

Build and evolve backend systems and APIs using Django
Own architecture decisions for scalability, reliability, and maintainability
Implement and refine CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
Apply clean code practices, design patterns, and strong system design principles
Refactor major parts of the codebase for better long-term maintainability
Collaborate on frontend work in React (feature work, integration, performance)
Use and improve AI-assisted development workflows for faster iteration and automation

What We're Looking For

Strong experience in full-stack development, with a backend focus
Solid knowledge of architecture, design patterns, and clean-code practices
Hands-on experience with CI/CD (build pipelines, testing, deployments)
Experience with heavy testing and QA practices
Comfort working across the stack: React + Django
Familiarity with modern development workflows and tooling, including AI-assisted development

Nice to Have

Exposure to (or curiosity for) Go and/or Rust
