Jobgether is hiring a Software Engineer, Backend to contribute to the development of highly scalable and reliable systems that process large volumes of real-time data. You’ll work in a fully remote, collaborative environment building robust distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines while optimizing performance and efficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain backend systems that enable reliable, scalable operation of distributed software platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate feature requirements into technical designs and implementable code.
- Write, test, and maintain robust, high-quality code to deliver customer value.
- Develop automated tests and comprehensive test plans to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Introduce performance improvements and optimize existing processes across software products.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support SaaS products and address incidents as needed.
- Champion engineering best practices, teamwork, and a customer-focused mindset.
What We’re Looking For
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Hands-on experience contributing to production software across multiple projects
- Experience with enterprise software deployment in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Strong knowledge of backend programming using NodeJS, TypeScript, or JavaScript
- Experience building and using production APIs (REST, RPC) and handling real-time data streams
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Playwright, Codecept, Mocha, Cypress, or Jest
- Experience in fast-paced, startup or Agile environments with remote or hybrid teams
- Ability to respond effectively to incidents, including participation in production on-call rotations
- Knowledge of data transformation, telemetry, logs, metrics, and observability best practices
