BMW Group is hiring a Software Engineer to join our data initiatives. You will collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers on the production implementation of use cases for our on-premise Big Data Cluster and our cloud-based Big Data solution. Your work will focus on creating actionable insights for the business through AI tools and visualization platforms.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers on production implementation of use cases for Big Data Cluster on-prem and in the cloud.
Work closely with AI tools, both executing and creating new use cases.
Use visualization platforms with data and AI tooling to create visuals for business stakeholders.
Support the creation and maintenance of data pipeline architecture.
Assist in assembling large, complex data sets that meet functional business requirements.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
Build infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
Keep data separate and secure across different business organizations.
Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
Communicate with team members and customers using tools like Outlook, Skype, and Teams.
Update and track tasks using tools like Jira and Confluence.
Support migration from On-Prem to Cloud Data Hub planned for Q2 2020, involving data ingestion using terraform scripts, glue catalog, glue jobs, depersonalization APIs, and creating views in cloud.
Support HR Use Cases by ingesting data assets into cloud, performing data transformation activities, and integrating reports with the Cloud Data Hub.

What We're Looking For

Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
Be an enrolled student at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
Have completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
Must attach a copy of unofficial transcript.
Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
The work term dates are August 10th - December 11th, 2026.
Must be an enrolled student during all three rotations.
