Saint Xavier High School is hiring a Social Studies Teacher to deliver world history and geography instruction, helping students learn how people, places, and events have shaped the world. In this role, you will develop lesson plans, assess student progress, and create a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking and problem solving.
What You'll Do
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the assigned course curriculum.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages respectful dialogues and fosters spiritual development.
- Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assess and evaluate students’ understanding through classroom discussions, assignments, and tests.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students in relevant matters of faith, morality, and ethical issues.
- Participate in school-wide events, including religious services, retreats, and other faith-based activities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in History, Geography, or a related field.
- Experience in secondary education.
- Strong understanding of history and geography curriculum.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of all skill levels.
- Proficient in email communication, word processing, and presentation software, including tools within Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must complete the Safe Environment Training course offered through the Archdiocese of Louisville within 30 days of employment.

- Master’s degree.
