Southwest Christian School is hiring a full-time Social Studies Teacher for the high school level, starting with the 2026-2027 academic year. You will join a community dedicated to being distinctively Christian, academically excellent, and globally minded. Your core mission is to plan and implement an instructional program that helps students fulfill their academic potential while promoting positive spiritual development.
What You'll Do
- Inspire learning and cultivate positive relationships with high school students.
- Provide classroom instruction and assessment, integrating a Christian worldview, for on-level and honors courses such as US history, World Geography, World History, Government, and Economics.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement, and high expectations.
- Use available resources, including various technologies, to deliver instruction and assess student learning.
- Maintain an accurate gradebook and post lesson plans weekly.
- Maintain clear, open, professional communication with team members, parents, and other school employees.
- Participate in the school community by supporting, sponsoring, or leading extracurricular activities.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- A current ACSI and/or state teaching certificate.
Nice to Have
- A Master's degree.
- Five or more years of classroom teaching experience.
- Experience using technology for instruction, productivity, and innovation.
- Interest in coaching athletic programs or sponsoring academic extracurriculars.
Team & Environment
You will cooperate with administrators, department chairpersons, and other school leadership as part of a collaborative team focused on student success.
