SUMMARY
This role serves as an entry point for a field service engineering career. The primary responsibilities include traveling to customer sites in high-security environments, maintaining and repairing X-ray and trace detection equipment using specialized tools. The position requires face-to-face and remote customer interactions, demonstrating a high level of team orientation and proactive technical knowledge sharing.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Traveling to customer sites across metropolitan and regional/remote areas, involving long-distance driving, air travel, and multi-day accommodation
- Troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing X-ray and trace detection equipment
- Completing preventative maintenance tasks per service contracts
- Responding to equipment faults according to service performance indicators
- Testing equipment components using multimetre, computer/laptop, and integrated software
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment faults
- Replacing mechanical components like belts, rollers, motors
- Replacing X-ray sources and heavy parts using lifting aids
- Inspecting, cleaning, and repairing internal machine components
- Assisting with new equipment installations
- Completing field service documentation and reports
- Participating in technical and safety training
- Maintaining clean work environments
- Responding to customer and stakeholder queries
- Managing spare parts and updating tracking systems
- Attending team meetings and safety briefings
- Maintaining and calibrating tools
- Providing on-call technical support
- Other duties as required
EDUCATION, LICENSES & EXPERIENCE
- Certificate 3 Trade Qualification or Degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic/IT)
- Provisional or Unrestricted driver's license
- Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain security clearances
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
