About the Role
The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining industrial connectivity solutions and production software to enhance smart manufacturing capabilities and support digital transformation in production environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy industrial communication networks for manufacturing systems
- Integrate production software with plant floor equipment and enterprise systems
- Support the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies across production lines
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues between machines and software platforms
- Develop and maintain documentation for connectivity architectures and software configurations
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure system interoperability
- Monitor network performance and optimize data flow in real time
- Implement cybersecurity measures for industrial control systems
- Configure and manage industrial protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, and Profinet
- Support software upgrades and patches for production systems
- Work with vendors to integrate new equipment into existing networks
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards for industrial IT
- Provide technical support during production downtime events
- Assist in the development of dashboards and reporting tools for operational data
- Train plant personnel on connectivity systems and software usage
- Participate in project planning for factory automation initiatives
- Evaluate new technologies for potential deployment in manufacturing settings
- Maintain system backups and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across production software platforms
- Support validation of software systems for regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with IT teams to align plant systems with corporate infrastructure
- Develop scripts or automation tools to streamline data collection processes
- Monitor system health and generate performance reports
- Lead root cause analysis for recurring technical issues
- Promote best practices in industrial networking and software management
