RemoteVA PH is looking for a Site Safety Specialist to ensure the safety and compliance of our construction sites. You will develop detailed site safety plans using CAD software and conduct regular safety inspections to maintain a secure working environment.
What You'll Do
- Develop and produce detailed site safety plans using CAD software, ensuring compliance with OSHA and NYC DOB regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites to ensure adherence to standards.
- Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Conduct safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop preventive strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote a culture of safety.
- Develop and distribute safety communications, including bulletins and alerts.
- Stay updated on safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams regarding site safety.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Site Safety Specialist or in a similar role, preferably in construction.
- Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for drafting and design.
- Strong knowledge of site safety plans, OSHA codes, and NYC DOB site safety rules.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to proactively identify and address safety hazards.
- Ability to conduct effective safety training sessions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Nice to Have
- A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Drafting, or a related field.
- A professional safety certification, such as OSHA 30-Hour or CSP.
- Experience with safety management software and tools.
- Knowledge of industry-specific safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to promote a culture of safety.
