Work within the Reliability Engineering team to design and maintain highly dependable, scalable systems for an emerging onchain financial platform. Partner with engineering teams to enhance system observability, reduce operational burdens, and ensure reliability is a foundational engineering principle.
Responsibilities
- Define and track key metrics to enhance system observability, reliability, and uptime
- Develop automation tools and refine systems to eliminate manual operations and reduce toil
- Partner with infrastructure teams to optimize cloud deployments using technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
- Collaborate with product teams to minimize service outages and automate incident response workflows
- Identify and resolve reliability issues across business units and technical layers through targeted software solutions
- Mentor engineering teams and promote reliability as a core cultural and technical value
- Write clean, well-tested code that meets customer and system requirements
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues to improve system performance, deployability, and maintainability
- Evaluate feature designs across product areas and company-wide initiatives for consistency and robustness
- Ensure designs uphold security, scalability, operational integrity, and architectural clarity
- Develop integration pipelines for third-party vendor systems
- Participate in on-call rotations to address and resolve critical production issues promptly
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven experience designing, scaling, and maintaining production services and service-oriented architectures
- Ability to write high-quality, thoroughly tested code tailored to user needs
- Strong passion for advancing an open financial system that connects global users
- Solid expertise in system design and software development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to transparency
- Proficiency in observability, debugging, and performance optimization
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms
- Experience collaborating effectively with engineers at all levels, from junior to principal
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and act decisively under pressure
- Willingness to investigate, debug, and improve any layer of the technology stack
- Must be available for on-call support to address urgent issues outside standard business hours

- Experience building systems that support high throughput and low latency
- Familiarity with observability platforms such as Kibana or Datadog

Compensation
Target annual base salary range: $186,065 - $218,900 USD. Total compensation includes eligibility for equity and bonus.
