About the Role
This role is focused on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform through strong engineering practices, automation, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the platform engineering team, engineering manager, technical product manager, and other engineers to enhance internal systems and platforms
- Take ownership of the technologies that enable engineering teams to deliver value to customers
- Improve delivery speed, developer experience, system reliability, and end-to-end customer outcomes by building high-quality internal platforms
- Contribute to the design and implementation of infrastructure, application foundations, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and developer tools
- Promote site reliability engineering principles and operational discipline across platform and product teams
- Ensure robust reliability and performance as the customer base scales
- Support continuous improvement in software development through code reviews, pair programming, design discussions, and mentorship
- Help build a pragmatic engineering culture by defining clear standards and development practices based on industry best practices
Requirements
- Experience working with platform technologies including TypeScript, GraphQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS, containerization on EKS or ECS, serverless architectures, developer tools, and infrastructure-as-code using Pulumi or Terraform
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts, even when not fully familiar with every part of the stack
- Strong sense of ownership for platform performance, reliability, and security in high-growth environments
- Commitment to operational excellence, test integrity, and release quality
- Capable of leading the delivery of complex features, understanding requirements, and ensuring high quality
- Comfortable with ambiguity, able to work independently, solve problems resourcefully, and adapt to changing priorities
- High attention to quality and dedication to delivering excellent work without compromising standards
- Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to evaluate and explain tradeoffs between effort and impact
- Minimum of five years of professional software engineering experience
- At least three years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or similar roles
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience
- Solid understanding of core software engineering principles and operational best practices
