Equifax is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer

Equifax is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will apply software and systems engineering principles to build, run, and scale large-scale, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems. You will ensure our services meet stringent reliability and performance standards while driving operational excellence through engineering solutions.

What You'll Do

• Work in a DevSecOps environment responsible for building and running large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
• Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to build highly available, cost-effective systems with extremely high uptime metrics.
• Partner with the cloud operations team to resolve trouble tickets, develop and run scripts, and troubleshoot.
• Create new tools and scripts for auto-remediation of incidents and establish end-to-end monitoring and alerting on all critical aspects.
• Build infrastructure as code (IaC) patterns that meet security and engineering standards using technologies like Terraform, cloud CLI scripting, or cloud SDK programming.
• Participate in a team of first responders in a 24/7, follow-the-sun operating model for incident and problem management.

What We're Looking For

• A BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent job experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, database administration, and networking.
• 1+ years of experience developing and/or administering software in a public cloud environment.
• Experience monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability to ensure functional and performance objectives.
• Experience with languages such as Python, Bash, Java, Go, JavaScript, and/or Node.js.
• Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with systems, storage, networking, security, and databases.
• System administration skills, including automation and orchestration of Linux/Windows using Terraform, Chef, Ansible and/or containers (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), and databases.
• Experience with networking (DNS, TCP/IP) and security.
• Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices.

Nice to Have

• A Cloud Certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience with MLOps and AI.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps operational practices and applying engineering skills to improve product/service resilience.
• Operational Excellence: Ability to prioritize work, monitor key system metrics, and identify process improvements.
• Systems Thinking: Uses knowledge of best practices and system integration to improve work and understand technology trends.
• Technical Communication/Presentation: Strong written and verbal skills to explain technical information and impacts to stakeholders.
• Troubleshooting: Methodical approach to defining and resolving issues, analyzing patterns, and implementing fixes.
