Walgreens is looking for a Shift Lead to step up as a key leader within our store team. You will ensure seamless store operations by managing openings and closings, delivering excellent customer experiences, and supporting inventory and team communication.
What You'll Do
- Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start-ups, required cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting customers, offering assistance, and resolving issues.
- Assist with and coach other team members to work with warehouse and vendor ordering processes.
- Responsible for registering all related sales on an assigned cash register, including handling scanning errors, price verifications, and voids.
- Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions, evaluating displays, and completing resets and revisions.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities for basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
- Handle basic department pricing, daily price changes, and ensure proper signage is displayed.
- Assist with bookkeeping activities such as cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment as necessary.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly store condition.
- Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks when store management is not present.
- Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
- Attend training and complete requested PPLs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and state and local laws regarding regulated products.
What We're Looking For
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Obtains and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
Team & Environment
Serves as a liaison between management and non-management team members.
