As the SFCC Technical Architect, you will shape the technical foundation of enterprise-grade Salesforce Commerce Cloud (B2C) implementations. You'll define architecture strategies, lead solution design, and ensure performance, scalability, and stability across complex digital commerce environments. Your expertise will drive best practices in coding, integration, and deployment while aligning technical execution with business goals.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement robust, scalable SFCC solutions, establishing coding standards, development guidelines, and performance optimization strategies
- Lead technical feasibility assessments for product backlogs, ensuring alignment with project scope and delivery capacity
- Build and maintain custom server-side logic using controllers, pipelines, scripts, and scheduled jobs
- Diagnose and resolve advanced code and configuration issues across development and production environments
- Conduct root cause analysis and performance tuning to enhance system reliability and responsiveness
- Manage catalog, pricing, inventory, and promotional configurations to ensure data integrity across SFCC and backend systems
- Resolve integration failures with external platforms such as order management, payments, and third-party review services
- Develop and troubleshoot OCAPI and SCAPI integrations to enable seamless interoperability
- Lead code reviews, enforce development standards, and guide release management in coordination with DevOps and QA
- Support CI/CD pipelines and source control workflows to streamline deployment processes
- Collaborate with Salesforce support and vendors to resolve escalated technical issues
- Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and mentor junior developers to strengthen team capability
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, including two full lifecycle implementations
- Advanced proficiency in SFCC B2C server-side development using Node-style JavaScript, ISML, and pipeline scripting
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex backend logic and Business Manager behaviors
- Strong experience configuring product, pricing, inventory, and promotional rules within SFCC
- Deep knowledge of OCAPI and SCAPI for integrating with OMS, payment processors, and external services
- Proven track record in performance optimization, root cause analysis, and agile hotfix deployment
- Experience with technical solution design and enhancement delivery in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing headless commerce architectures using SFCC with modern front-end frameworks like React or Vue
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket Pipelines
- Background in CDN configuration and routing strategies
- Experience working with SFCC PIG (Primary Instance Group) environments
- Active participation in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives
- Hands-on experience with data modeling and large-scale product catalog management
- Exposure to multi-region or global eCommerce operations
- Salesforce B2C Commerce Developer or Architect certification is a strong advantage
