About the Role

Brown & Brown is hiring a Service Representative, Brokerage Placement – Commercial Lines to support our commercial insurance operations. In this role, you will be responsible for retaining commercial business by handling policy service requests from retail agents with accuracy and timeliness.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to retail agent service inquiries via email and phone within established service-level standards.
  • Process endorsements, audits, cancellations, reinstatements, and payment status inquiries across commercial lines including casualty, property, and financial.
  • Issue and deliver accurate Certificates of Insurance.
  • Access carrier portals to retrieve and process endorsements and other service items.
  • Follow up on open tasks to resolve them efficiently on the first attempt.
  • Collaborate with brokers and carrier contacts to resolve service issues and clarify requirements.
  • Escalate non-routine requests or items requiring broker or carrier review.
  • Follow carrier guidelines, state regulations, surplus lines requirements, and internal procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Active P&C and Surplus lines licenses, or the ability to obtain them within 45 days.
  • Two or more years of insurance work experience or a bachelor’s degree.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers at all levels.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize daily tasks.
  • Ability to understand and efficiently utilize manual and automated technology platforms.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of commercial lines insurance experience in wholesale or retail; commercial servicing experience is strongly valued.
  • Professional designations such as CISR, CIC, CPCU, or equivalent.
