Seagate is hiring a Senior Test Development Engineer to join the Component Test Development and Electrical Integration group within our Recording Head Technology division. You will develop test solutions and provide design insights at the transducer level, collaborating with Recording Head Design teams in Minnesota, USA and Springtown, UK.
What You'll Do
- Work onsite in the Teparuk factory, reporting to the Characterization and Analytics Group (CAG) Director.
- Support Transducer design activities by collaborating with the DVL Test team.
- Incorporate design requirements into test setups, plan experiments, monitor results, and analyze data to provide feedback.
- Manage design experiment requests and provide first-level data analysis using tools like JMP, Excel Macro, SQL, and Tableau.
- Lead electrical and physical failure analysis activities with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate on engineering integration for new head design R&D, providing analysis for product improvement.
- Work closely with Electrical/Mechanical Design and Test teams to align test codes.
- Mentor team members, arrange training, and allocate work when acting as project owner or leader.
- Use strong interpersonal and planning skills to work as a team lead or member, managing multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines.
- Maintain a positive attitude and provide exemplary customer service.

- Ability to use Machine Learning, Predictive Models, and Data Visualization.
- Skill in using electronic equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
- Knowledge of laser and optical systems.

Team & Environment
You will be part of the Component Test Development and Electrical Integration group within the Characterization and Analytics Group (CAG), Recording Head Technology. You will report directly to the Characterization and Analytics Group (CAG) Director based in Teparuk.
