Kentik is hiring a Senior Technical Writer to own the maintenance and expansion of our Knowledge Base (KB) for the network intelligence platform. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and software developers to produce thorough, clear documentation that explains product features and workflows.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and expand the Knowledge Base to explain what the product does and how to use it.
- Work with product managers and software engineers to gather information about all aspects of the Kentik platform.
- Test product features and write, edit, and update articles from an end-user perspective.
- Organize information into digestible, informative topics.
- Contribute user-perspective feedback to help improve the platform.
- Potentially create additional non-KB content that supports customers.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of eight to ten years of experience.
- Extensive experience writing and editing KB documentation for a software-based product.
- An affinity for written language that is detailed, unambiguous, precise, and concise.
- Experience testing and validating documentation for accuracy, completeness, and usability.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to ask great questions.
- Ability to analyze the product and KB content to determine what brings value to the reader.
- Strong organizational habits to manage multiple projects in parallel.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the concepts and terminology of networking and network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with the concepts and terminology of data analytics.
- Experience with Jira, Notion, and content management systems.
- Experience creating media content like video tutorials for integration into online environments.

You'll join a small Docs team that works closely with product managers, designers, and software developers.

- Salary range: $110,000 – $135,000
