Jackbox Games is looking for a Senior Technical Animator to take comprehensive ownership of our rig creation and implementation pipeline. In this hands-on role, you will animate expressive characters from a beloved IP and help shape our animation department's standards. You'll join a small game studio of about 80 people, where teamwork and a friendly, creative atmosphere are paramount.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the team on content goals and establish benchmark assets.
- Animate expressive characters and own the rig and animation creation process.
- Recommend pipeline and performance standards to optimize workflows.
- Approve and integrate assets developed externally.
- Polish final shipping assets to ensure high-quality character animation.
What We're Looking For
- An eye for detail and a true appreciation for the art of good skin weighting and animation polish.
- Strong knowledge of rigging and character animation tools, including skeletons, skinning/deformers, constraints, and FK/IK.
- Comfort in a variety of tools like Maya and procedural animation, with insight into when to use which tool for the right effect.
- A passion for traditional animation principles and how they can enhance gameplay and style.
- Well-versed in Unreal Engine and how to break down game animation assets.
- The ability to pull all the above into a compelling end result that enhances the game for players.
