Responsibilities
- Develop pipelines, datasets, and linked services within Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Convert Alteryx workflows into Synapse-compatible SQL, PySpark, or Data Flows.
- Improve query performance through optimization of SQL pools using partitioning, indexing, and caching techniques.
- Set up automated CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Manage data security configurations including row-level security, role-based access, and audit logging.
- Enhance ADLS Gen2 storage efficiency by refining folder layouts, file formats, and Delta/Parquet implementations.
- Work closely with Data Modellers to correctly implement data models.
- Oversee Synapse environments by tracking performance metrics, cost usage, and autoscaling behavior.
- Diagnose and resolve problems across data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration stages.
- Deliver architectural recommendations and promote platform best practices.
