Flock Safety is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Front End to join its Aviation team focused on Drone as First Responder (DFR) solutions. You will design, build, and maintain the front-end user interfaces for next-generation software and hardware products, translating designs into efficient, scalable code.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable front-end code using TypeScript, Next.js, and ReactJS.
- Translate UI/UX designs into technically feasible, user-friendly interfaces.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to ensure best practices.
- Gain access to repositories, design systems, and CI/CD pipelines and set up your local environment.
- Participate in team ceremonies like stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Meet with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to understand workflows.
- Develop new UI components or pages, ensuring responsiveness and performance.
- Implement global state management solutions like Redux.
- Optimize API calls and application performance using Next.js tools.
- Contribute to frontend documentation and improve design system components.
- Provide feedback on UI/UX designs and suggest improvements.
- Refactor legacy components to modern React patterns and enhance code reusability.
- Implement TypeScript best practices and improve accessibility compliance.
- Propose improvements for CI/CD processes and research new frontend tools or libraries.
- Work with product and design to shape better user experiences and lead knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Set goals for the next 6 months, such as migration plans or design system improvements.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Frontend Developer.
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
- Experience with front-end development tools such as Webpack and NPM.
- Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
- Ability to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable front-end code using TypeScript, Next.js, and ReactJS.
