About the Role
This role is central to building and maintaining the infrastructure that captures and processes live meeting data. As the company scales to millions of users and enhances real-time features, the engineer will ensure the media pipeline remains robust, efficient, and foundational to product innovation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop a next-generation pipeline for processing live media with minimal delay
- Support features such as real-time transcription and live note generation by ensuring pipeline performance
- Enhance and maintain automated agents that join and record meetings on Zoom, Meet, and Teams
- Diagnose and fix issues in live connections with external meeting platforms
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect and resolve service disruptions
- Optimize media processing tools like FFmpeg and GStreamer for lower costs while maintaining quality and speed
- Improve storage and transfer mechanisms for raw audio and video data to downstream services
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver data-driven features
- Communicate complex technical challenges clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience developing scalable software systems
- Broad technical expertise across multiple domains such as backend, frontend, DevOps, or data engineering, with flexibility to tackle diverse challenges
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and frameworks
- Curious and creative approach to solving technical problems
- Capacity to work independently on ambiguous, open-ended issues
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure, particularly in auto-scaling and resource optimization
- Familiarity with streaming protocols like WebRTC or MoQ and media processing tools such as FFmpeg and GStreamer
- Deep understanding of HTML/CSS and browser rendering behavior
- Prior work in a startup or high-growth environment
