What You’ll Do
- Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of backend services that handle high-volume financial transactions
- Architect robust data models and API contracts with a focus on scalability, observability, and fault tolerance
- Collaborate across engineering and product to solve complex challenges in payments, compliance, and risk systems
- Mentor engineers in best practices for development, testing, and system design
- Drive adoption of modern tooling and frameworks while staying current with evolving cloud and backend technologies
- Support production systems as part of an on-call rotation, ensuring rapid resolution of operational issues
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience shipping scalable backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript
- Solid grasp of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Experience designing for high availability, low latency, and secure data handling
- Ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and advocate for data-informed decisions
- Track record of delivering complex software products in production environments
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Familiarity with both modular monoliths and microservices architectures
- At least four years of industry experience building backend platforms at scale
