HSBC Group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to establish and lead the Android and iOS engineering community across the organization. You will define engineering standards, advocate for modern development practices, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality mobile tools and capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Establish and maintain the community of Android and iOS engineers across Mobile Foundation, Channel Transformation, and beyond.
- Lead and govern the adoption of the 'HSBC way' of engineering Android and iOS mobile applications.
- Collaborate with technical leaders and product owners on product strategy, code standards, roadmap definition, and requirements.
- Advocate and advance modern software development practices within the Android/iOS engineering community.
- Participate in broader discussions about mobile software architecture.
- Grow the technical expertise of the Android/iOS engineering community.
- Work closely with teams, product owners, agile coaches, and stakeholders to deliver world-class tools and capabilities.
- Actively participate in the Mobile Engineering Discipline and associated communities.
What We're Looking For
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Native experience in mobile development.
- Experience as a Lead or Senior Android/iOS Engineer in a large-scale mobile engineering environment.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
- Experience participating in technical show-and-tells.
- Passion for open-source ways of working.
- Experience fostering a strong engineering culture in an agile and DevOps environment.
- A track record of identifying and implementing opportunities to enable Android/iOS engineers to develop more productively and with high quality.
- Experience collaborating effectively across multiple engineering centers in multiple territories.
- An advocate for quality and gatekeeper for the definition of done.
- Experience documenting solutions.
