FMNE Insurance is hiring a Senior Software Developer

This role involves leading the full lifecycle of software development on the Guidewire Cloud platform, with a focus on the Enterprise Engage front-end experience. The individual will provide technical leadership across project stakeholders, business analysts, and QA teams to ensure delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality applications aligned with business objectives in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular and punctual office attendance as a core job requirement.
  • Lead end-to-end implementation, configuration, and customization of Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and Enterprise Engage Front-end solutions.
  • Design and develop business logic using Gosu, including rules, product models, workflows, and data structures.
  • Execute Guidewire system upgrades, apply patches, and integrate with Enterprise Engage (Portal/Edge) and DataHub/InfoCenter.
  • Leverage Guidewire training resources and certification programs to maintain technical proficiency.
  • Develop and modify integrations using REST APIs, SOAP, message-based systems, and batch processes.
  • Build and manage SQL databases to support application needs.
  • Contribute to defining software development standards, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Install, configure, monitor, and maintain SQL databases and related software for web applications.
  • Enhance existing systems by identifying improvement opportunities and implementing changes.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation such as design specs, deployment guides, and support materials.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to development tools and processes.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using Java/Gosu, REACT, and .NET technologies.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented code with unit tests and utilize modern development frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization to ensure reliability.
  • Interpret complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure all development aligns with security, compliance, and enterprise architecture policies.
  • Develop ability to create and understand system design descriptions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain version control systems like SVN and Git.
  • Gather system design input through interviews with user departments or agents.
  • Coordinate with user departments during software changes or new implementations.
  • Work within an Agile/Scrum framework, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Monitor compliance with departmental software development and design standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and senior-level experience with .NET (C#, .NET Core), Java/Gosu, and SQL Server.
  • Extensive experience with the Guidewire platform and strong knowledge of Java/Gosu, OOP, design patterns, and clean code principles.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Guidewire Cloud Developer Certification is required.
  • Ability to work proactively and manage responsibilities with timeliness and accountability.
