Wealthsimple is hiring a Senior Software Developer for our Delivery Platform team, where you will architect the systems that make shipping code at Wealthsimple fast, safe, and transparent. You will own the complete deployment lifecycle, from CI/CD infrastructure to observability tools, empowering hundreds of engineers to deploy with confidence.

What You'll Do

• Evolve progressive delivery with Argo Rollouts and GitOps, enhancing canary deployment strategies and building self-service deployment tools.
• Optimize CI/CD infrastructure at scale to improve speed and reliability, optimize build times, and enhance artifact management workflows.
• Build deployment gates and guardrails that prevent production incidents through automated quality checks and validations.
• Build world-class deployment observability and visibility through Datadog and custom tooling, integrating metrics into Backstage.
• Drive Wealthsimple's 2026 reliability mission by implementing chaos testing frameworks and automated rollback mechanisms.
• Pioneer continuous, automated load testing using k6-based frameworks and performance regression detection.
• Champion engineering excellence and mentorship by partnering with teams, sharing expertise, and mentoring engineers.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in team-based software development with a strong focus on platform engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, or SRE.
• Deep expertise in modern deployment and orchestration, including Kubernetes, GitOps workflows (ArgoCD or similar), and progressive delivery strategies.
• Strong CI/CD experience designing, building, and operating deployment pipelines using tools like Buildkite, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Reliability engineering and observability expertise, including building observable systems with Datadog or Prometheus.
• Technical versatility across multiple languages, with experience in TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Kotlin, or similar.
• Load testing and performance validation experience using tools such as k6, JMeter, or Gatling.
• Infrastructure as Code and cloud experience, including AWS and Terraform.
• Product mindset for internal platforms, treating deployment infrastructure as a product.
• Strong collaboration and mentorship skills with experience coaching engineers.
• Data-driven approach, using metrics to establish baselines and guide decisions.
