Hopper is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for its Cloud FinOps team. You will manage a large Google Cloud infrastructure used by hundreds of engineers to serve millions of users globally, focusing on automation, optimization, and ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective.
What You'll Do
- Work on projects to drive higher cost efficiency, such as reducing network egress costs and optimizing storage and autoscaling.
- Improve current cost attribution to ensure all teams have clear visibility into their costs.
- Participate in providing support to incidents and be part of on-call rotation for platform incidents.
- Contribute to solving doubts and problems engineers face with infrastructure and approving PRs requiring Platform supervision.
What We're Looking For
- A strong background in SRE, DevOps, Software Engineering or Systems engineering.
- Excellent troubleshooting and system design skills with good analytical capabilities.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of major cloud providers, preferably Google Cloud.
- SQL knowledge.
- Experience with Containers, Kubernetes, and related tooling like Kustomize and Helm.
- Networking knowledge (DNS, TLS, certificates, ingresses).
- Observability with log collection, metrics, APM, etc. preferably Datadog.
- Security knowledge (IAM, RBAC, network security).
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies.
- CI/CD experience.
- Database technologies knowledge.
- Competent in scripting with Bash and Python or other scripting languages.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Service Mesh, preferably with Istio.
