About the Role
Designs and manages Microsoft 365 security controls, focusing on data protection and risk mitigation across enterprise platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Microsoft 365 security configurations such as Data Loss Prevention policies, retention labels, and data classification tagging.
- Continuously assess and refine existing security settings to strengthen enterprise data protection.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with excessive file sharing, outdated data, and unauthorized access across large-scale Microsoft 365 environments.
- Work directly with business units and end users to understand operational needs and guide effective security control deployment.
- Take end-to-end ownership of security solutions by proposing improvements, executing changes, and ensuring follow-through.
- Enhance the security framework for OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams platforms organization-wide.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing data security and protection features in Microsoft 365, specifically SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Direct experience setting up Data Classification Labels, Retention Policies, and DLP rules within Microsoft 365.
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate across teams to gather business context and explain security measures.
- Background in Microsoft 365 administration with a focus on transitioning into or expanding within security engineering.
- Experience handling large volumes of data securely and addressing risks related to file oversharing.
- Track record of implementing or adjusting custom security configurations in Microsoft 365 environments.
- Ability to assess real-world data usage scenarios and partner with users to align security controls with business operations.
